BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Katie Herbert - Chair

Katie is the CEO and co-founder of Healthkind — a social impact-minded start-up on a mission to deliver personalized care, at scale. The small (and mighty!) community market at Sorauren reminds her of the roadside fruit and veggie stands of her hometown of Leamington, Ontario — the tomato capital of Canada.

Colin Guldimann - Treasurer

An avid cook, baker, reader, amateur sommelier and (not so avid...) runner. He joined the Sorauren Farmers Market board to support the Market in its crucial food security and community building efforts, and in an effort to advocate for greater connections between people, farmers, the land, and the food they consume. An economist by training, he has spent the better part of his career researching the macroeconomic impacts of climate change in Canada at RBC's Climate Action Institute.

Helen Acraman - Executive Director, Market Manager

With a background in the arts, small business and community building and her current work as a gardener with a passion for compost, soil microbiology and regenerative agriculture, Helen has found a very nice home as Manager and Executive Director of Sorauren Farmers’ Market. Helen loves to ride her bicycle everywhere in all the weather and lives to meditate.

Sandra Van, a community advocate, has spent over 25 years working to address housing, poverty, and food insecurity in West Toronto. Raised on a farm, Sandra’s passion for food and community building led her to develop innovative urban agricultural programs and food security initiatives. She co-founded the Garden’s Pod Project, a pioneering model for mobile-raised gardens on underutilized community land. Sandra also established a large-scale community kitchen and coordinated weekly pop-up food hubs in South Etobicoke, partnering with local agencies to drive positive change.
